Adopting a Mature Cat

People are often reluctant to adopt a mature cat. They feel it will never settle in and become a member of the household. This is untrue.

Here you see George, who was rehomed six months ago at the age of 5, when his previous owner had to go into a nursing home. He is relaxed and happy in his new home. His owners, a young couple who both go out to work, are pleased with their decision to adopt an older cat. In their own words: “George settled in with us very quickly. He has been with us for six months. When we walk in the door, he is always there to greet us. He is friendly, affectionate and playful. We are very pleased with our decision to rehome a mature cat and would recommend it to others.”
