As a charity almost fully kept going by our generous volunteers, we offer some services. These include our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) Programme as well as adoptions of cats & dogs after being rescued and rehabilitated.

There’s never a dull moment with boisterous brot

There’s never a dull moment with boisterous brothers George and Oreo - now ready for adoption! 🐾

Like Sherlock and Watson before them, these little detectives are on a perpetual mission to investigate every nook and cranny of their surroundings, and they've mastered the art of infiltrating even the most peculiar places – watch out for those kitchen cabinets! 🕵️‍♀️

Under their gaze, the most ordinary of items become objects of curiosity. From seashells to bugs to human snacks, trust that George and Oreo will be there to give them a sniff or a nibble. For the budding horticulturists out there, you might need a touch of creativity and strategic environment enrichment to keep these two out of your plants…

Initially shy, George and Oreo have transformed into confident companions who are well acquainted with lap naps, biscuit-making and being held. They love to show their affection by gently headbutting and even attempting to groom their fosterers🙈 While they may take a couple of days to settle into a new environment, they can be easily won over with treats and gentle pats, especially during their snoozy moments 😴

If one furry friend just isn’t enough, this charming double act will definitely keep you entertained with their nuzzling, tussling, nibbling and tumbling.

A couple moved to Naas a month ago and noticed an empty house with adult cats and kittens...

One of our volunteers offered to help and she trapped all 3 adults - who were female - and trapped the 2 beautiful kittens who went to foster care 🐾😺

Seemingly, somebody has been feeding them for 2-3 years but never spayed the cats! We're very glad we got to stop 3 females having more kittens 🙏🐾

She can be a little bit skittish, and sometimes likes to retreat to a hiding place. But, she will usually settle down once her foster mom starts petting her 💛

Meet Fred & Luna ♥️

Fred and Luna were found straying near a bustling part of town. Were they abandoned, forgotten by someone they loved? Or did they learn the ropes of street life from their early days as kittens?
We might never know.

Fred, a majestic long-haired tabby with a heart of gold. He has naturally taken on the role of "protector" for the shy and reserved Luna, always ensuring she feels safe.
Whether it's sharing his bowl of food, or merely sitting close to provide comfort, he takes his "big brother" role seriously. To adopt Fred is to bring home a cat with a great sense of responsibility.

Luna, with her years, brings a calm and comforting presence to anyone she meets. Being outdoors for a long period has made her quite independent. Luna's timid nature and past experiences might make her hesitant to form close connections with humans initially.

Fred, sensing Luna's reservations, made it his mission to help her come out of her shell. Both Fred and Luna love to rub gently against their fosterer as a gesture of gratitude during mealtime and they’ll happily eat treats from hands. Fred even enjoys the occasional petting session and will purr contentedly if he is in the mood.

As an added bonus, their natural hunting skills make them great helpers in keeping your outdoor environment lively and free from pesky visitors!

Despite their contrasting personalities, Fred and Luna share an unbreakable bond.

Ready for adoption: Spud 😺🐾

When is being a couch potato a good thing? When you have a kitten called Spud cuddled up beside you of course!

This little cutie patootie is affectionate, curious, very playful and quite active. He loves to follow his humans around and watch what they’re getting up to and his favourite pastimes include running all over the house and mountain climbing (well at his age and size everything seems like a mountain).

While Spud is friendly and trusting with big humans he knows well, he can be hesitant when strangers are in the home. However, once he selects his favourite human in the family, he loves nothing more than jumping up on their lap and looking for rubs and attention. So if you give him time to settle in, you can expect Spud will be looking for plenty of rubs and love from you in no time.

Spud can sometimes play a little rough with the younger kittens at his foster house but that’s just his alpha male tendencies coming out. He would need the company of another kitty in his new home to play and socialise with.

Unlike his namesake who flourishes outdoors in the soil, Spud the kitten would definitely be better off as an indoor only cat as he can get nervous and will feel safer in the comfort of home with his humans around him.

She had a tough start but with the care and attention of her fosterer, she is now a very happy and healthy little cat who loves to discover the world. She’s a very sweet little lady and likes to be doted on; she loves to be picked up and have her belly softly tickled.

She loves the company of her brother and sister and is very playful and engaging with other cats as with humans. In the morning, she comes for her cuddles.

Pickles has beautiful markings and a fluffy coat. She will be a wonderful addition to any home.

She can be homed independently or with other adult cats.

2023 commended the 12th anniversary of the arrival of Larry the Cat to 10 Downing Street ☕️ Larry is the very first to be given the official title of "Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office," and he is extremely good at his job! So much so that having his own term overlapping with 5 different PMs so far, he was asked repeatedly to become Prime Minister himself (Larry was also not shy about the suggestion on his personal Twitter account)😸 This year we commend Larry for not letting internet fame or political turmoil get into his head and continue being a constant source of pawsitive content 🐾

CDPA's yawning Jorge is also full of personality and we think he will soon find his forever home 🐾😸

A floating cat sanctuary in Amsterdam called Poezenboot or simply Catboat has been catching the public's eye since 1966 🇳🇱 The cat shelter takes in more than 200 animals annually! This year they announced that a new cat boat will be built as the old one is not as sustainable and future-proofed as once seemed 🤕 So this year's project of an energy-efficient heaven, as some call it, has been announced, and the crowdfunding has begun!
